Bonnie Anderson given good behaviour bond

Neighbours star showed "misguided loyalty" in case surrounding former boyfriend.

Neighbours actress Bonnie Anderson was given a three-month good behaviour bond in Ringwood Magistrates Court this week, following her former boyfriend allegedly caught speeding.

In 2017 her then-boyfriend her boyfriend Matt Arnautovic was allegedly caught driving her car at excessive speed.

Her lawyer Rainer Martini said Anderson had shown “misguided loyalty” in covering up for her boyfriend.

Anautovic, who was struggling with a drug problem at the time, pleaded guilty in April and was placed on a community corrections order.

“At the end of the day he accepted responsibility and my client accepts responsibility as to the foolishness in trying to protect him,” Martini said.

Anderson, recently nominated for a Logie award, pleaded guilty to failing to give information as to who was driving her car and failing to notify a change in her residential details within 14 days.

Magistrate Tim Walsh, who admitted to being a longtime Neighbours viewer, released her on a three-month good behaviour bond without conviction and ordered she contribute $500 to charity.

  1. Sounds almost like the situation between her on-screen character and her situation with on-screen ex-boyfriend Finn (Rob Mills). I was going to suggest that this was a case of life imitating art, but this would have happened before she had even been cast on the show.
