Charlie Robbins wins $100,000 on Australian Ninja Warrior

Ninjas are defeated by a punishing course, but an unassuming golfer takes home a cash prize.

Unassuming golfer Charlie Robbins, won $100,000 last night as the furthest fastest competitor in the Australian Ninja Warrior Grand Final.

For the third year running, no Ninja made it to Mt. Midoriyama, but 5 competitors made it to Stage 3 for the first time, including Dan Mason, Bryson Klein, Josh O’Sullivan and Rob Patterson.

Series favourite, Ashlin “Flashlin” Herbert, was sensationally disqualified in Stage 2 after falling on the salmon ladder.

Robbins, Klein, Mason and O’Sullivan all failed on the Floating Doors, just two obstacles away from Mt Midoriyama, despite being freed of time constraints. Robbins, just 21 from Victoria, was ruled winner having reached the obstacle quickest.

“It feels like a dream. It was a really strange feeling to win, and might take a while to sink in,” he said.

“Hopefully next season I’ll get a chance to climb that rope.”

“Ninja has really helped my golf,” he declared. “It’s given me a new confidence and made me realise that I am in fact capable of winning.”

The third season, relocated to Melbourne has been a ratings winner for Nine, with casting already open for 2020.

  1. Well I think that’s a lesson for all of us – be incredibly fit, challenge yourself and you could win $100k on Ninja. Or stay on the couch in front of the telly, work on your gaming and possibly pick up $US3m playing Fortnite
