Man charged after throwing yoghurt at Leigh Sales

A Western Australian man has been charged with common assault after 7:30 host Leigh Sales was forced to dodge a tub of yoghurt while delivering a speech in Perth yesterday.

Sales was midway through a speech for the Disrupted Festival 2019 at the State Library of Western Australia when the item hit a podium.

Sales was in the middle of discussing a very serious event she wrote about in her book, following the birth of her second child.

A 49-year-old West Leederville man was held down by event security until Perth Police arrived.

He has been bailed to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on October 27.

After the initial shock Sales told the audience, “If everyone else is alright, I’m quite happy to go on,” and resumed her speech.
