Amazon Prime has renewed The Boys for a second season ahead of its premiere on Friday.
Based on the best-selling comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, it centres around superheroes as popular as celebrities, who abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good.
The first season stars Jack Quaid, Elisabeth Shue, Karl Urban, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford and Nathan Mitchell. Simon Pegg guest stars.
Supernatural‘s Eric Kripke developed the series and serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer.

Was watching the trailer for this yesterday on Amazon Prime, it looks like it’s going to be pretty full-on and not for the faint of heart, then again it’s from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson who did Preacher. Plus along with Eric Kripke as mentioned it’s also been developed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg who also did Preacher (with Sam Catlin), interestingly they must have a typical look in mind for their main characters as Dominic Cooper was that in Preacher and Karl Urban in this and they look very very similar.
