I don’t know why an astrophysicist would want to put himself through this. I saw the ads on 10 and most of the women didn’t even know how to pronounce “astrophysicist”, let alone know what it means. One of them thought it was the same as an astrologer!
Yes they are mining it for comedy and to leave some looking ditzy. That’s what the show does.
