  1. In more than 40 years of film going, one of the most visceral experiences I ever had in the cinema was watching Freddy Jones’ performance as the exploitative ‘manager’ of John Merrick aka The Elephant Man. I saw that movie as a teenager in 1980 and it and all the performances are indelibly etched, especially that of Freddy Jones.

  2. I shall never forget Derryn Hinch’s two word review of the film Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed, published in the Sydney Sun of 1969.

    “Here, here”.
