Aussie actor, best known for Mad Max, East West 101 & Wildside, has died.

Australian actor Richard Carter, best known for Mad Max, East West 101 & Wildside has died aged 65.

He died early on Saturday morning following a brief illness.

Carter had a busy screen career from beginning in the early 1980s, playing quintessential Aussie cops and associated roles on shows such as Wildside, White Collar Blue, Blue Murder, Rafferty’s Rules, City Homicide, plus Bodyline, Vietnam, Bangkok Hilton, The Flying Doctors, Hey Dad, Heartland, A Country Practice, G.P., The Coroner, All Saints, Heroes’ Mountain, Farscape, The Bill, Pizza, Murder in the Outback, Housos and Rake.

Film credits include Bootmen, The Great Gatsby, Mad Max: Fury Road, Muriel’s Wedding, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Hating Alison Ashley. Babe: Pig in the City, Idiot Box, Two Hands, The Man Who Sued God and Gettin’ Square.

He was also a busy voice-over artist in television commercials.

In a statement Lisa Mann Management said, “He is adored by his wife Lindsey and daughter Amy, his family and friends and all who ever got the chance to talk to him. His generosity knew no bounds and his loss is too great to quantify. He will be sorely missed.

“Richard’s family wish to express their thanks for all messages of condolence. A private memorial service will be held to honour and celebrate Richard’s life.”

  1. He seemed to pop up in everything. Looking at his IMDb profile, I’m surprised to see that he hadn’t appeared in anything over the last few years.

    I will remember him for playing Susie Porter’s dad in East West 101, which I’ve been meaning to watch again.
