Veteran US actress, who voiced for Minnie Mouse & The Simpsons, has died.

Veteran US actress Russi Taylor, who voiced for Minnie Mouse and The Simpsons, has died, aged 75.

She died in California on Friday, the Walt Disney Company has said.

Taylor provided voice-overs for animated TV series, films and theme parks featuring Minnie Mouse from 1986.

Bob Iger, Disney’s chairman and chief executive, said, “For more than 30 years, Minnie and Russi worked together to entertain millions around the world – a partnership that made Minnie a global icon and Russi a Disney Legend beloved by fans everywhere.

“We take comfort in the knowledge that her work will continue to entertain and inspire for generations to come.”

She even married Wayne Allwine, the voice of Mickey.

As well as Disney characters, Taylor also lent her voice to roles on TaleSpin, The Little Mermaid, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and Kim Possible. She also played characters in The Simpsons, including Bart’s dorky classmate Martin.

“I never wanted to be famous,” she once said. “The characters I do are famous, and that’s fine for me.”

  1. Another great passes away. You know what they say? ‘nothing lasts forever’. i only viewed some of her work although not surprised about the rest.

  2. I wonder what The Simpsons writers will do with those characters – with Mrs Krabappel they killed her off – Martin and the twins do still feature quite heavily in later series storylines.

  3. Who would have thought that Mickey and Minnie was a real-life love story?

Taylor also provides the voice of German exchange student Ãœter on The Simpsons.

But in honour of her performance as Martin Prince:

“Oh… the gentle caress of the summer breeze.

The summer wind came blowin’ in from across the sea…”

Thank you for the laughs and memories. Rest in peace.
