US superhero prequel has been cancelled after two seasons.

US superhero prequel Krypton has been cancelled after two seasons.

Syfy is ending the David Goyer-produced drama which told the story of Superman’s grandfather, due to low audience figures.

Season two averaged only 408,000 US viewers, down considerably from the 1.8 million viewers (with three days of DVR) from season one.

Additionally, a spinoff series Lobo, which was to centre around a bounty hunter played by Emmett J. Scanlan has been rejected by Syfy.

Krypton also screens in Australia on Syfy.
