Kayo appoints Chief Commercial Officer

Ant Hearne to focus on commercial strategies, customer acquisition & management for sports streamer.

Kayo Sports has appointed Ant Hearne as Chief Commercial Officer.

Hearne from New York where he was Chief Commercial Officer for marketing technology startup, Rokt.  He has over 20 years of digital experience across telco, digital media and marketing for large corporates and global tech start-ups.

The new role will focus on leading commercial strategies and customer acquisition and management.

I suppose there is a commercial risk for Foxtel that they could depreciate the value of their iQ4 business because Kayo should be able to upgrade to 4K at some point and I would expect Ant Hearne with his tech background to include a future format upgrade in his plans. currently, Kayo is geo blocked outside Australia so some consideration should also be given to buying future sports broadcast rights with options to broaden Kayo’s availability overseas, especially for Australian sport.
