Pierce Brosnan joins Netflix Eurovision film

Pierce Brosnan has boarded Will Ferrell’s movie on Eurovision for Netflix.

He will will star as Erick Erickssong, the most handsome man in Iceland and father to aspiring Icelandic musicians Lars Erickssong (Will Ferrell), half of a duo with Sigrit Ericksdottir (Rachel McAdams).

Lars and Sigrit are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition, and finally have a chance to prove that any dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for.

The film is currently in production in the UK and Iceland with David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers, The Judge) directing.

At this year’s Eurovision, Iceland’s entry Hatari breached rules by displaying Palestinian banners in the Green Room.

  1. Will Ferrells star has become dimmer lately as his recent comedy movie efforts struggle to find audience attraction, never the less Netflix do seem to be attracted to comedic stars with a high price tag, that mainly survive on celebrity and generate an equal degree of love-hate with their audiences, stars like Adam Sandler who has always had his fair share of critics for his idiocentric movie making, hopefully Netflix wont be regretting it.
