The Block, Mad as Hell win Wednesday slots.

Ratings: There was something for everybody last night.

There was something for everybody last night….

The Block won its slot for Nine, but 10’s Bachelor beat it in the demos, Seven network edged ahead overall to win and ABC comedies won their slot. Ok maybe SBS lucked out….

The Block (828,000) beat a competitive The Bachelor (744,000), then Hard Quiz (616,000), The Celebrity Chase (572,000) and 7:30 (551,000).

Later, Mad as Hell (686,000) and Utopia (660,000) were ahead of My Life is Murder (406,000), the debut of Grand Hotel (359,000) and finale of Cheat (231,000 / 183,000).

Nine led in primary channels but Seven network won Wednesday with 26.3% then Nine 26.2%, 10 22.3%, ABC 18.3% and SBS 6.9%.

Seven News was #1 with 1.03m / 967,000 for Seven then Home and Away (645,000) and The Chase (578,000 / 369,000).

Nine News (915,000 / 870,000) was best for Nine. A Current Affair drew 771,000 then Hot Seat (475,000 / 287,000). Millionaire Ex-Wives Club drew 200,000

On 10 The Project was 504,000 / 286,000 plus 10 News First (364,000), Celebrity Name Game (237,000) and a replay of Instinct (158,000).

ABC News (655,000), Diary of an Uber Driver (288,000) and The Drum (177,000) comprised ABC’s other shows. The Set returned to 101,000.

On SBS it was Tony Robinson’s Coast to Coast (215,000), SBS World News (136,000), Untold Australia (124,000) Mastermind (66,000) and Knightfall (just 54,000).

NCIS: LA led multichannels on 10 BOLD at 198,000.

News Breakfast: 123,000 / 48,000

  1. Watching the Block last night and an advert came on simply saying “All Stars” and 5 former block “couples” walking together and voice over Scotty saying something along the lines of “they’re coming”. Anyone else see this?

    1. I saw it this week night and was like- Is this like a spin-off of The Block- I saw Josh and Elyse and Ronnie and Georgia I think. Maybe it’s like The Block All Stars?
