Another UK game show is coming to arvo telly.

Nine has picked up the UK game show Tipping Point in which contestants answer general knowledge questions to win counters which they use on a large coin pusher arcade-style machine.
Hosted by Ben Shephard it has been running in the UK since 2012.
Nine sources confirmed the show is headed for an afternoon timeslot (against The Chase UK perhaps?) but there are no plans to introduce an Aussie version.
An airdate is yet to be confirmed.

We watched this on our last trip to the UK and we’re hooked. We have resorted to watching it on YouTube. Hope they have a decent compere.
Watched some of this on YouTube and think it’s absolute pish, an absolutely dull concept not worth wasting time on our screens.
Is Millionaire Hot Seat with Eddie McGuire continuing as well as having this new british game show Tipping Point On Hour Screen as well or is the afternoon News being Shortened love hot seat every day on 9
Hot Seat is much better than The Chase Australia & Eddie is the best host
Some of the contestants have uploaded their featured episodes to YouTube. At first I thought it was rather naff but It hooked me in enough to watch a second episode.
I’m a big fan of game shows, but my initial reaction is that I’m not interested in Tipping Point. It looks like it revolves around a silly arcade game and without any depth to the concept which makes other game shows successful or likable. I will at least need to watch a full episode.
You have pretty much nailed it, but it’s simplicity makes it surprisingly watchable.
Basically answer questions to win counters to put in machine. Each counter = £50, lowest total each round eliminated then in final round put in the Jackpot counter and answer questions worth 1, 2 or 3 tokens in 6 categories to try and get the Jackpot token out.
The article says it has been on in the UK since 2012, so it does seem to have appeal for audiences.
Love this show. Watch it every time I’m in the UK
If this is just the UK version, this will be a test market to determine if an Aussie version will rate well.
If it beats The Chase UK almost or outright every weekday, I believe Channel 9 will seriously think about an Aussie version.
Perhaps Eddie should be looking over his shoulder, in saying that though if an Australian version occurs he’ll more than likely be the host.
The most boring game show ever!
I just watched an episode of this on YouTube to see what it is like and thought it was pretty good. Think I will enjoy seeing more.
