AFL Finals 2019: guide

It's that one week in September...

It’s a big week on Seven next week as AFL Grand Final fever hits.

From the lighter moments to the best football news and analysis, the Brownlow Medal, The Front Bar and Grand Final day, Seven has everything covered in the fever-pitch build-up to the biggest day on the football calendar.

Led by Bruce McAvaney and Brian Taylor, Seven’s Grand Final day coverage will capture all the excitement of the big occasion, including pre-game analysis, late-breaking news, the pre-match entertainment headlined by Paul Kelly, Dean Lewis and Tones and I, and then the moment everyone has been waiting for – the premiership decider.

In the week leading up to the match, Seven launches a celebration of Australia’s favourite football code, starting with Game Day on Sunday morning and including Grand Final specials of The Front Bar, Talking Footy and Armchair Experts.

And 7News is the only team that can take you inside the AFL’s biggest game of the year, bringing you all the Grand Final news first, including exclusive early access to the selected teams.

Brownlow Medal
On Monday night, the Brownlow screens live on Seven, as Hamish McLachlan hosts the prestigious count for the first time. Some of the biggest names in the game are highly fancied to take out the AFL’s most coveted individual honour this year, including Patrick Dangerfield, Nat Fyfe, Marcus Bontempelli and Patrick Cripps. It will be glamour overload when Seven broadcasts the red-carpet arrivals, with Abbey Gelmi, Josh Gibson, Campbell Brown and Nadia Bartel to showcase all the glitz, colour and elegance as they welcome the stars to football’s night of nights. AFLW superstar Daisy Pearce will also speak to the contenders throughout the count.

  1. Does anyone know if 7plus will stream this live? I can’t seem to find authortive information one way or another. Unfortunately I’ll be away from a TV screen on Saturday afternoon, but would like to check in on the game.
