Airdate: The Trade Game

Andy Maher, Brendon Goddard and Tom Browne take an inside look at AFL's trade and free agency periods.

New 7mate show The Trade Game will give AFL fans the inside running on all the potential deals during this year’s trade and free agency periods.

Starting next Monday and airing twice weekly until the conclusion of the player exchange period, this features a panel of Andy Maher, Brendon Goddard and Tom Browne.

Where will out-of-contract stars Tim Kelly, Jamie Elliott, Tom Papley, Eddie Betts and Paddy Ryder land in next month’s trade period? And which contracted big name will be the centrepiece of this year’s bombshell deal – Brodie Grundy, Joe Daniher or someone completely unexpected?

Maher, Goddard and Browne will also have their say on the winners and losers of all the big deals and the tough list management decisions every club needs to make. And when high-profile talks have reached a stalemate, they’ll get creative and throw up potential exchanges to resolve the impasse.

The central players in the top-end trades – club footy bosses and list managers, player agents and the players themselves – will also join the panel to shed some light on the various machinations and intrigue unfolding behind the scenes.

  1. Just wanted to ask what the numbers/percentages on 7mate would attract, and if they would make an over all impact if this was shown in NSW/QLD states. Would 7 be so concern to lose such a small audience on this channel if they wanted to show it? Same thing I ask for the front bar not being live on 7mate in NSW for the grand final.

  2. Really disappointed this doesn’t appear to be on in South East Queensland. Come on Seven! There is no reason not to show this, even in a later time slot considering some of the rubbish you dish up on 7mate.
