Bluey dad Bandit wins (canine) Father of the Year

A special category recognises ABC pooch after an overwhelming number of votes received for an animated character.

Successes for ABC’s Bluey roll on with the show’s father figure Bandit being named (Canine) Father of the Year by The Shepherd Centre.

After being inundated with votes, The Shepherd Centre added a special “Canine” category this year in recognition of the portrayal to family audiences.

Voiced by the lead singer of ’90s cult band Custard, David McCormack, Bandit demonstrates what it means to do parenting right.

Joe Brumm, Creator & Writer for Bluey, said, “This award is testament to Bandit as he tries his best to be a worthy role model to his kids.”

Bluey is set to premiere in the US on September 9, on Disney Junior and DisneyNOW.

Sunrise sports presenter Mark Beretta won the human-form Father of the Year.

Happy Father’s Day to both!

  1. Should have won the one Mark Beretta won, I mean if a Horse in Black Caviar can win best female athlete then an animated Canine can win that one 😉
