David Koch extends with Sunrise

Breakfast rumours of another departure prove unfounded.

David Koch has signed for another year with Sunrise, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

The news comes as the Seven show enjoys its biggest gap over rival Today. Last week that went as wide as 299,000 for Sunrise to 169,000 for Today.

It also comes after clickbait headlines that Sunrise hosts were leaving.

“The show is a sinking ship – there’s a new scandal every week, sometimes every day,” an unnamed source told Woman’s Day.

“They’re weighing up all the options and one is an all-new team. They think it’s time to revamp the show completely. It could be a bloodbath just like Today, maybe even worse.

Today also denied headlines it had approached Carrie Bickmore to step into its show.

  1. I never understood the Morning Show hype which is really an expensive monster of commercial TV’s own making, but you really got to laugh at the ridiculous clickbait rumour mongering to make these arguable morning celebrities front page news, especially from the News Corp publications where any publicity is good publicity for them.

  2. Just remember punters that Woman’s Day is owned by Nine, so naturally they will bash Sunrise, just like how New Idea (which is owned by Seven) will bash Today. These so-called magazines are just, as in the words of a certain American real estate mogul cum US President, “fake news”.

  3. when you’re winning the ratings you’ll pay the big bucks to keep the talent. They would need to be very picky with who they choose to replace him, the wrong choice could kill the show. Like Today loosing Lisa Wilkinson.
