Denise van Outen to guest on Neighbours

Former EastEnders actress to play mother of Jemma Donovan's character in 10 Peach soap.

Former EastEnders Denise van Outen has been shooting a guest appearance on Neighbours.

She will play Prue Wallace – the mother of Jemma Donovan’s ‘Harlow Robinson.’

“I am thrilled to be joining the cast of one the world’s most iconic shows, Neighbours,” she said.

She will first be seen in London-based storylines before heading to Erinsborough to “stir things up.”

“It came about because the producer wanted an English actress to play the mother of a character who was already in the show called Harlow, who is played by Jemma Donovan, who is Jason Donovan’s daughter,” she added.

“She brings up her child in the UK and then the child, Harlow, goes to Australia to seek out her relatives and that’s how I end up going over to Australia.”

Van Outen has been a presenter on shows including The Big Breakfast, Loose Women, a judge on Ireland’s Got Talent, performed in Chicago and narrated The Only Way Is Essex.

Good Morning Britain roving reporter Richard Arnold will also make a cameo appearance.

6:30pm weeknights on 10 Peach.

  1. Denise van Outen and Richard Arnold! Awesome! The Brits are coming. Loved Denise on The Big Breakfast (The British version not the Channel 7 version in the 90s) and Richard Arnold is basically the UK equivalent of our Angela Bishop. Looking forward to their appearances and hopefully they’ll stop by Studio 10 as well

  2. I have no idea who she was in eastenders. There’s also an actress in neighbours at the moment, playing a stalker to Ned, who looks familiar, but I can’t place where I’ve seen her. Can anyone help?

      1. Thanks guys yes, it was The Wrong Girl where I’d seen her before. I did see the Peter Allen mini series, but her role in that was small and not where i’d remembered her from.

    1. Think you may be referring to musical theatre star Christie Whelan Browne? She’s also been in The Wrong Girl, House Husbands, Offspring, Wonderland among others.
