Hannah Gadsby has won an Emmy Award for her Netflix comedy special, Nanette.
Gadsby won the Writing for A Variety Special category beating out entries such as Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, Amy Schumer: Growing and Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh.
She was also nominated in the Variety special (pre-recorded) category but lost out to James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke.
Gadsby’s win follows a billboard campaign in Los Angeles and contrasts with the fact she was never even nominated for a Logie Award this year.
