Jordan Anthony to represent Australia at Junior Eurovision

14 year old Jordan Anthony will represent Australia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Poland.

Anthony, from from Perth, was placed 4th in this year’s series of The Voice.

He is the 5th entrant to represent Australia at Junior Eurovision and the 3rd who has competed on The Voice.

“Music for me is the ultimate form of expression. When people listen to my songs I want them to relate and happy or sad know they are not alone” he said.

“Jordan is a phenomenal new talent, who radiates and commands the stage with his extraordinary voice. Jordan’s authentic personality and extraordinary confidence performing, delivers a love and joy for music which will no doubt shine through in the competition. We are all behind Jordan as he represents Australia for the first time and we look forward to sharing his journey in Poland with the ABC ME audience.” said Libbie Doherty, Head of ABC Children’s Production.

Junior Eurovision will screen on ABC ME on November 25.

The ABC is thrilled to announce 14-year-old superstar Jordan Anthony will represent Australia at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC). Hailing from Perth, Western Australia, Jordan was recently the youngest ever finalist on The Voice. Now he will follow in the footsteps of Isabella Clarke and Jael Wena, Australia’s previous performers in the JESC, as he makes his way to Poland to compete.

Capturing hearts around Australia on The Voice, Jordan received high praise from Australian pop icon Guy Sebastian who described his voice as ‘breathtaking’. A child virtuoso, Jordan has had an ear for music and passion for singing from a young age writing his own songs from just 7 years old. Skilled on the piano, Jordan draws from personal experiences to write his original music which he shares with his fans by busking on the streets of Perth.

This year 19 countries will give their all at JESC. Held on Sunday 24 November in Gliwice-Silesia, Poland the show will be broadcast on ABC ME during a very special family television event on Monday 25 November. Once again Australians will also be able to vote online for their favourite JESC 2019 performer, and ABC ME is rallying all Australians to get behind JESC 2019 and celebrate all the young performers competing.
