Kristy Sellars wins Australia’s Got Talent 2019

A pole-dancing mum wins Seven series, but not everything runs without a hitch.

A pole dancing mother of 3 has won the Australia’s Got Talent grand final.

Melbourne’s Kristy Sellars won the $100,000 prize in a winning a Live public vote after she was one of 4 acts pre-determined by judges Shane Jacobson, Lucy Durack, Nicole Scherzinger and Manu Feildel.

She won with a pole routine to the song ‘Unsteady’ by X Ambassadors, defeating singers Jennifer Anderson, Olina Loau and dancer Sienna Osborne.

Lucy Durack said, “That was the ultimate Grand Final performance. What impressed me the most was you told this most beautiful and important story and you made us feel.”

Nicole Scherzinger said, “You make me so proud to be a woman, that was profound. You bring power and depth and meaning to pole dancing.”

Shane Jacobson added, “Never stop what you’re doing. You do it with such power and yet you’re happy to show us your emotions.”

The winner was determined through a Live vote to Eastern States viewers with one of 4 pre-recorded endings to announce the result. One grand finalist, knife thrower Captain Ruin, also was unavailable for the final.

But some viewers took to social media to complain about issues with voting through the 7plus app.

Updated: A Seven spokesperson told TV Tonight,“After a few minutes of voting being opened, one of the 7plus services had an issue with autoscaling, leading to some users not being able to access the 7plus vote page on the 7plus mobile apps. This only affected some users and was quickly resolved within the voting period.”

  1. I’m totally confused. Lol. They choose 4 acts to through the final last Sunday night, right? The next day I found out the winner has already announced. Um, what? Did I skip one week somehow?

  2. I think Ricki-Lee has been an incredible host. Highly like-able and shows so much heart. She would be an excellent choice for a Voice coach next year CC Channel 9

  3. To say the ‘winner announced’ section was strange is an understatement.

After the entire series, it was like “Ok you won it. Hurry up and cry so we can wrap up.”

No words from the judges as we let it sink in; just cut to Sunday Night.

      1. I feel this is part of Channel 7’s problem with shows not “resonating”. They are just churning out content without the heart that used to be there. Just throw enough mud and it might stick. Full Monty’s, Dirty Dancings, it’s just filler and not engaging.

  4. It’s rare news.com.au doesn’t cover a reality grand finale after it’s aired , several hours after , or even now , nothing . Australia really doesn’t care lol
