Gogglebox will get further cast members next season according to Foxtel Executive Director of TV Brian Walsh.
The Endemol Shine-produced series announced a new casting hunt through Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne in March.
But while no new faces emerged in the current season Foxtel, which commissioned the series,
“We are continuing to audition for Gogglebox. We were in Queensland looking for new cast but didn’t quite find the right ingredients,” Walsh tells TV Tonight.
“But we will expand the number of households next season.”
Last December the show lost Wayne & Tom and Angie & Yvie but added Melbourne siblings Tim and Leanne in February.

The celebrity couples doing a Gogglebox skit on The Weekly were really funny, I’d like to see a couple of special celeb episodes, even politicians etc
I actually thought that after I commented, anonymity for legal reasons or something like that
Sorry, that was in reply to Maeve’s reply to me ?
Those 3 little boys in your picture look a bit young for some of Gogglebox content…
They don’t watch all. Sometimes it is just adults.
Let’s hope one of the new households are cat owners.
Emmy Silberry has had a cat on her lap in multiple episodes this season.
This show is losing its shine a little bit.
I find myself not loving it as much as I once did. Might be time for a full refresh of the cast.
Agree – some episodes they seem to over do it with the editing.
also agree, it needs a refresh with some new people.
Agree too. I can drift in and out of this now. The narrator, while witty, is probably a little overused in terms of interacting with the Goggleboxers’ dialogue. I think a couple of the households are getting a little tired.
They’ve actually toned down the voiceover from a few seasons ago.
I feel part of the problem is content. Oh lets watch the Bachelor again and a David Attenborough doco and maybe some RBT/Highway Patrol and Antiques Roadshow.
A full refresh would be a mistake. Gogglebox UK seems to be doing fine with adding 1 or 2 new households a season as it’s in its 14th season now.
Last week’s ep was really funny though and quite sad in places.
A single dad with a son or 2 might be an interesting new dynamic previously unexplored.
Great idea, or a couple with foster kids or adoptees.
Cannot do foster kids…one of mine ..her sister ..won Ladettte to Lady…9 had to cut a lot from one episode…
