Red faces at the Emmy Awards today after it was confirmed the In Memoriam section featured a photo of composer conductor Leonard Slatkin whom it mistakenly identified as the late André Previn.
Leonard Slatkin is 75, alive and well and tweeted his surprise.
I saw that @theemmys posted a photo of me "In Memoriam" rather than the intended Andre Previn. Andre deserved better. I had the opportunity to introduce him when he received the @KCHonors. Perhaps he was paying me back for a couple stories I told about him. Andre, R.I.P. pic.twitter.com/MDVX6H0igb

Slatkin told the Detroit Free Press that Previn “would have been very amused” by the error.
“He had a droll and dry wit,” he added.
