Returning: The Indian Dream Hotel

British seniors spend a month in the city of Udaipur in Rajasthan, to compare retirement with the UK.

Season Three of The Indian Dream Hotel will have its Australian Premiere on LifeStyle next month.

It screened in the UK as The Real Marigold Hotel in August.

Russia, the largest A new group of celebrities head to India on an experimental adventure. Five thousand miles from home, the group spend a month in the beautiful city of Udaipur in Rajasthan to test whether they can set up a better, more rewarding retirement here than in the UK. The group will take over a traditional Indian mansion on the banks of Lake Pichola. Once they’ve settled in, their mission will be to immerse themselves in life in the neighbourhood and further afield; from learning the language to mastering the markets; taking overnight trains to coping with the hectic traffic.

Adjusting to the environment, the food, the customs and the climate will be a culture shock for our cast, as they leave routines and loved ones behind in the UK and adapt to living together. Will the challenges put them off or will they fall in love with India and its abundance of charm, stunning scenery and welcoming people. Celebrities this season are comedian Syd Little; TV presenter and journalist Selina Scott; actress Stephanie Beacham; Grand National winning jockey Bob Champion; writer and former politician Stanley Johnson; actress Susan George; Krankies double act Janette and Ian Tough; and Eastenders actor Peter Dean.

Fridays from October 18 at 8.30pm on LifeStyle.

  1. I love watching TV celebs who were famous 30 years ago pretend they are seriously interested in emigrating to India. It’s just nice seeing celebs being real and I grew up on all of these UK celebs in the 80’s. Although I just admit I thought Peter Dean was dead years ago. Maybe his character just died in Eastenders .
