Satirical UK puppet show Spitting Image hopes to return 23 years after it last aired.
Broadcast from 1984 to 1996, the show parodied political leaders, celebrities and royals across 18 series.
A pilot for the resurrected show has already been filmed. New episodes will take on Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, the Royals, Kanye West and Mark Zuckerberg but anybody in the public eye is considered “fair game.”
“It’s pretty chaotic out there. As far as I’m concerned, it’s better than shouting at the television set,” said creator Roger Law.
“It’s true that Britain has a special tradition of caricature and satire, but I think that audiences around the world are sophisticated enough to enjoy it. If not, we can also put in some puppets bonking heads with a coconut sound.”
