Wendy Moore departs House Rules

Another face leaves Seven's reno show.

House Rules judge Wendy Moore has announced her departure from Seven’s renovation show.

On Instagram she wrote:

So…. After seven incredible years on the amazing show that is House Rules, it is time to say goodbye. I have loved every single moment and am really proud to have worked on a show that has literally changed lives and inspired us all to take on big, scary challenges. I have made so many friends, seen so many parts of Australia and learnt so much that I will always be grateful to Channel Seven for. How lucky was I to work with the superwoman @johgriggs7 from the very beginning, the incredible (or incorrigible) @llewelynbowen , who is also the ultimate gentleman, my first partner-in-crime @joesnelldesign, and of course the loveable @drewheatharchitect , the #tdp @carolynburnsmcc – all of whom I still call friends – and lastly my final year working with the pocket-rocket @jamiedurie (after more than 20 years of knowing each other). Obviously all the contestants over the last seven years are the people that have put their heart and soul on the line to make House Rules what it is – and I love that I still talk to many of them years after their series is over. But there’s also the super-talented crew – camera, sound and everything in between – who absolutely love this show and put everything into it. Thank you thank you thank you to @lisasoames_makeup and @rosietrindall – I am so lucky to have been doing this with you!

Of course it’s always sad to see the end of such a great experience, I guess you could call this the #sevenyearitch – it’s definitely time, and my new role heading up the Lifestyle Channels @lifestyleau at @foxtel has been an absolute whirlwind over the last six months and I know it’s just going to get bigger and better as all of our new shows start rolling out next year. And just quietly, I’m pretty excited at the thought of a whole, uninterrupted, summer with my family for the first time in seven years!!! Thank you to everyone who has watched House Rules over the years – I’ll be watching season 8 along with you next year!!

Moore was recently announced as general manager of Foxtel’s LifeStyle portfolio but recently told Mediaweek continuing the Seven role was part of her deal with Foxtel.

House Rules has already seen the departure of Joh Griggs after 7 seasons. That leaves Jamie Durie & Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen and design mentor Carolyn Burns McCrave, but Seven is yet to confirm its 2020 plans.

Seven has been contacted for comment.

  1. Well first Joh Griggs ” leaves ” House Rules and now Wendy Moore ” leaves ” – I wonder if they are all “leaving ” of their own accord…
If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck it probably is a duck.

  2. That’s a shame first drew now Wendy loved her too better than Shaynna can’t stand her annoying laugh and choice of colour. I agree would love Carolyn to step in she’ll make a great addition and even replies back to fans on Twitter during episodes on tv
