1.87m as NRL draws bumper share for Nine
Ratings: Nine's share doubles the competition as Roosters claim back to back victories.

The NRL Grand Final drew a bumper crowd of 1.87m viewers last night helping Nine to a whopping 46.4% share. It was a neck and neck game until the Roosters claimed back to back victories.
The Presentation drew 1.08m and the Entertainment segment was 939,000.
In Sydney the audience was 832,000 and in Brissy 534,000.
Overall it was down on 2018 when the Roosters won against Melbourne Storm to the sound of 2.1m metro viewers. But the figures will climb higher still with regional viewers where NRL is particularly strong.
Against tough competition were The Real Dirty Dancing (499,000), Grand Designs: The Street (378,000 from 7:40pm) and The Graham Norton Show (267,000 from 7:30pm).
So far this year the AFL Grand Final sits atop the ratings list at 2.2m metro viewers and the State of Origin I at 2.18m.
Nine network won Sunday with 46.4% then Seven 23.3%, ABC 11.3%, 10 10.4% and SBS 8.6%.
Nine News also won at 864,000 for Nine.
Seven News was best for Seven with (853,000) and Sunday Night (472,000). What The Killer Did Next drew (242,000).
The Sunday Project was (275,000 / 198,000 ) for 10. 10 News First was (183,000). The last ever Instinct was (127,000) and Bondi Rescue drew just 88,000.
ABC News (508,000), Les Norton (273,000), Patrick Melrose (148,000) and Compass (144,000) also comprised ABC’s night.
On SBS it was Joanna Lumley: The Quest For Noah’s Ark (187,000), Great Indian Railway Journeys (175,000), SBS World News (147,000) and Treasures Decoded (135,000).
Bluey topped multichannels on again at 132,000.

Love to know the ratings for this in Canberra. Do you think this is a city/town/community (not sure what we call the capital…) which is all footy mad? I’m not really an NRL man, but was such a close game, its what you want in a GF. Poor Ryan James who forgot the welcome to country and admitted it to a roar of a crowd. Classic
Southern NSW was 200,000.
Sunday Night, which was the only Channel 7 programme to break into the key top 5 Free To Air 16-39 Demographics last night, as well as being the 8th most popular programme of the night, has been axed.
And with figures like that, who could blame them said an anonymous Channel 10 representative.

I was on 10….Graham Norton was good albeit a little stiff and tense…not as relaxed as usual…he had his work cut out…. Sad about Instinct….really loved that…
Sorry David, but NRL isn’t played in quarters, it’s two halves and The Roosters only won because of a major blunder/change of mind by the referee. probably one of the most controversial wins ever, even the Roosters fans are disgusted and embarrassed . ( and no I am not a Canberra Raiders fan )

I didn’t watch it, but I did listen to the NRL Grand Final on ABC Grandstand (its on digital radio for those playing at home), and they mentioned something on betting agencies offering refunds for those who put money on Canberra winning because of some of the major blunders/change of mind by the referee, so I am in agreement with you. And on the radio, I could easily hear the jeers at the referees, especially during the presentations.
Was Canberra cheated? I think these major blunders/change of mind by the referee pretty much influenced the result of the match, so there is a possibility that Canberra should’ve won (or at least go into extra time).
Just like how GWS were cheated by the umpires in the AFL grand final. Richmond were handed the game with the momentum they gained towards the end of the first quarter completely thanks to the umpire who gave that free kick that shouldn’t have been given that ultimately resulted in a Richmond goal, their first of the game. If that didn’t happen, GWS would definitely have been in with a chance after Jeremy Coleman did get the first of the game. Just thought I would add this since everyone will have forgotten this moment. Apparently the Tigers are invincible (rolls eyes)…
