Cross Court: Oct 20

New tennis magazine show on Nine hosted by Todd Woodbridge profiles Novak Djokovic.

New tennis magazine show Cross Court, screens Sunday mornings on Nine hosted by Todd Woodbridge, with additional reporting by Jelena Dokic, Dylan Alcott and Sam Groth.

Here’s what’s on the rundown this weekend…

This week’s show will profile reigning Australian Open champion and world number one, Novak Djokovic. The Serb has won more AO titles than any other player in the Open era and will be out to claim number eight when the tournament begins at Melbourne Park in January.

From Rafael Nadal’s extensive pre-match routine to Dylan Alcott’s must-listen-to song, we’ll take a look at some of the wildest player superstitions.

Your tastebuds will be tingling as we step into Neil Perry’s Rockpool restaurant ahead of its third year of offering on-site dining at the Open.

We’ll relive Dylan Alcott’s fifth title win at the 2019 Australian Open in the men’s quad wheelchair singles, and in Queensland we meet Chloe Johnston, a woman with Asperger syndrome, and see how tennis has transformed her life.

Plus, we’ll look ahead to the feast of tennis in store at the 2020 Australian Open.

Sunday, October 20, at 11.00am on Nine.

  1. I love my tennis. But I think that this is a filler show, since The AFL & NRL Sunday Footy Shows have finished up for the year. We do need new content on the weekend, instead of repeats like what we usually get after the footy codes finish up.

  2. Bizarre timing if it is a weekly show. The WTA only has the final 2 tournaments of the season after the show starts before a nearly 2 month break. I certainly won’t be renewing my subscription to WTATV.com which runs out on Nov 3, which I am watching as I type, until next year.

    1. The show is a puff piece for the Australian Open. The only mention of any recent results was when they profiled Naomi Osaka and they said she won a tournament in Japan recently.
