How 7food helped Seven win the ratings week

Ratings: Having one extra multichannel makes all the difference for Seven.

It was a curious week in the ratings last week with Nine coming first in primary channel share and demos, but beaten in network share by Seven.

Just 0.6% split the two rivals -meaning the 0.7% share on 7food helped Seven to cross the line.

Since last December Seven has enjoyed one extra channel than Nine and last week it made all the difference.

Despite The Masked Singer topping the week 10 was light on and slipped behind the ABC. SBS was up last week.

  1. Hey David just wondering why doesn’t Channel 9 have an extra channel another one to match Channel 7.?? Do you know if they will add one soon?? I reckon they should have a dedicated 24/7 Sport Channel since they have a lot of sports and can use archives from the past and even acquire new sports to their field. What do you reckon?

    1. Ok two points. Firstly in the Multichannel Survey they answered N/A to the question of new channels. Secondly I raised the question of Seven having the edge in total ppl due to an extra channel last year and they reiterated demos more important than total people.

  2. If 7Food Network is bringing in good advertiser dollars for its target young demographics and grocery shoppers (as your multi channel survey said last week), then I wonder if the sub-1% shares are enough to keep the channel afloat? It seems to go over 1% one or two nights when Gordon Ramsay is on
