Multichannel Survey 2019: SBS VICELAND, SBS Food, World Movies, NITV.

Now with two HD multichannels, SBS channels try to understand the world around you.

Today marks the last in TV Tonight‘s annual multichannel survey.

NITV has the most first-run Australian drama of all its multichannels, while SBS VICELAND enjoyed a surge with Brooklyn 99.

Newly-launched SBS World Movies channel targets movie lovers, aged 25-54.

SBS VICELAND

BRAND IDENTITY:

  1. I’m really enjoying Viceland, it’s great seeing the X-Files each night and they often have classic and unusual movies, along with good documentaries.

  2. ‘World Movies’ has been a bit of a disappointment so far-many, many repeats of films that have been shown on the original channels over the years and how many times do we need to see the inferior remake of ‘Whisky Galore’ in a month for example?

  3. I think SBS World Movies has been a great addition to free-to-air this year as it fulfills the SBS charter and aids in cultural awareness and understanding with English subtitles for foreign films.

    Unfortunately, due to time constraints from satellite feeds and strict licensing issues, it is still not possible for SBS to provide English subtitles for their foreign language news broadcasts on SBS and SBS Viceland.
