Netflix raises premium subscription fee
Premium plan with 4k streaming is hiked up, but no changes to other plans.

Netflix is raising the price of its premium subscription fee from $17.99 to $19.99 from today.
The premium plan offers subscribers 4k streaming on available titles as well as four simultaneous streams. Less than a third of Australian Netflix subscribers are believed to be on that top tier.
There is no change to basic and standard prices.
“We change our prices from time to time and continue to invest heavily to grow in the depth and breadth of our content such as new shows like The Politician, Unbelievable, well-loved series like Stranger Things, The Good Place and The Crown, as well as improvements to our product.
“Our basic and standard memberships will remain at the same price, ensuring as many people as possible can enjoy our content.”

Netflix is great though well worth it over other services imo!!
What a bad move from Netflix. Disney+, Apple tv+ coming soon, They should be more competitive…
He also told me Australia and NZ are having the increase today, we are the last 2 to get the increase, everyone else was earlier in the year
I heard about this earlier today. I’m on $17.99 package I haven’t been notified from Netflix that this was increasing. Aren’t they supposed to email u or notify u prior to making price increases, similar to Foxtel. I checked my account and it still says $17.99, my billing cycle is 11th.
I presume it takes effect from your next bill.
I read that in the article, thanks. But the other question is, Prior to any price increase aren’t we supposed to be notified so if need be, make changes to the account. Thanks
Contact Customer Service they’ll be able to assist with that
Thanks Deejays, just rang them now and he told me it’s only for new subscribers. He said If I login to my Netflix account via app or website, a pop up or banner should appear notifying of the change. I advised I haven’t received either, so he said I won’t be getting the increase. So we will see come the 11th
I suppose this is also a case of what you have agreed to when ticking off on the terms and conditions (and whether you have inadvertently agreed to a condition that fees may increase with little to no notice).
Considering that Netflix would have to deal with a barrage of angry customers for suddenly changing the fee without prior notice, it would stand to reason that only new subscribers would be affected.
