Paul Murray Live broadcast from Alice Springs last night, the eighth location of a regional Our Town series.

Singer Isaiah Firebrace performed and $30,385 was raised locally for Purple House, a not-for-profit organisation providing dialysis for Indigenous patients, and School of the Air in Alice Springs.

“Alice Springs was always a location we had planned to visit as part of the Our Town tour. I’m thrilled that we were able to showcase everything Alice has to offer and hear from all the wonderful locals as to why this is a bucket list destination for every Australian. Most importantly, we raised funds that will have a positive impact to regional communities in NT for years to come,” said Murray.

Paul Whittaker, Sky News Chief Executive said: “We are really proud to have broadcast Paul Murray Live Our Town from the unique and spirited outback community of Alice Springs and showcase the town to our national television audience. Quality health and education services are not always easily accessible in isolated locations around Australia, and the incredible efforts our partner Harvey Norman and the CWA have made will have a significant impact on the lives of many locals living in Alice Springs.”

  1. Can’t stand the man myself but if it was to benefit a good cause, well done. Sky still occasionally slotting in the ‘fat bloke’ (his description of himself, not my invention in case I upset someone) clip and his three seconds of fame with Trump by the way.
