Returning: Cold Feet

Season 8 will have its Australian premiere on Acorn TV.

Season 8 of Cold Feet will have its Australian premiere on Acorn TV from October 14.

The AMC Network-owned platform which specialises in UK dramas and mysteries, has struck a deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment for seasons 1-7 available now, and the latest season from mid-October. This premiered in the UK in January.

Creator Mike Bullen said, “Cold Feet has long had a loyal following Down Under, a fact that was brought home to me when we filmed an episode in Sydney 20 years ago. Soon after that, I moved with my family to live in New South Wales. I’m proud to call Australia home and delighted that Acorn TV is the new home of Cold Feet in Australia. It’s great that Australian fans will know with certainty where they can see Season 8 of the show. I think it’s our best ever – I can promise plenty of laughter and tears.”

Kerensa Samanidis, GM for Acorn TV International, said, “Cold Feet has been loved by audiences across the world since it first broadcast. We’ve all grown with the characters through the ups and downs of their lives and we’re excited to bring the twists and turns of series 8 to Australian audiences. Cold Feet is a perfect fit for Acorn TV, and, by providing a destination for audiences to enjoy all 8 series, we’ll delight longstanding Cold Feet fans whilst also introducing the show to new audiences.”

Season Eight sees friends Adam (James Nesbitt), Karen (Hermione Norris), David (Robert Bathurst), Jenny (Fay Ripley) and Peter (John Thomson) return to screens with new relationships, financial struggles and closely-guarded secrets.

After Adam’s recent split with his girlfriend he’s back in the dating pool and wondering if he’s lost his mojo. Peter and Jenny have renewed their wedding vows and are committed to getting their marriage back on track, but Jenny is hiding a devastating secret.

David’s trying to impress girlfriend Nikki (Downton Abbey’s Siobhan Finneran), who has recently come into some cash, and is struggling to come to terms with being financially dependent while working his minimum wage job. Karen is focusing her energy on growing her business and raising her teenage children, but is there a big romance waiting for her around the corner?

October 14 on Acorn TV.

  1. Not suprised by 7 not airing the latest season. It is a shame that most people are going to have to sign up to a streaming service to be able to watch the 8th season of Cold Feet which aired in the UK back in January. I suspect the 9th season will also end up on Acorn next year after it airs.

  2. Not happy Jan! What the hell is Acorn TV? (Yes, I‘ve just Googled it!)
Looks like I’ll have to buy the overseas edition of Season 8 DVD after all.

      1. Apologies David. My grumpiness wasn’t aimed at you. I meant, I’d never heard of Acorn TV, so I Googled to see what it would cost etc. etc. I’ve been impatiently waiting for channel 7 to air this all year and have resisted buying it on DVD.
