Australian actor who had roles in Cop Shop, Farscape, Arcade & ANZACs has died.

Australian actor Patrick Ward, who had roles in Cop Shop, Farscape, Arcade and ANZACs has died, aged 69.

He died earlier today according to colleagues on social media.

Ward’s earliest role was in Number 96 but many more would follow especially through the 1970’s and ’80s.

They included Matlock Police, Spyforce, Class of ’75 and Homicide.

He played Cornelius (aka Corny), in the serial The Unisexers in 1975 which was cancelled after just three weeks then a 3 month role as Const. Peter Fleming in Cop Shop in 1977. He was given a regular role in 10s new soap, Arcade, but it too was cancelled after six weeks. He also managed a guest role on The Love Boat.

Other TV credits included My Two Wives, A Country Practice, Chances, Mission: Impossible, All Saints, Farscape, ANZACS, Fields of Fire, Holiday Island, Rafferty’s Rules, Body Surfer, Phoenix, Runaway Island, Bad Cop, Bad Cop and Home and Away.

Film credits included Stone, The Chain Reaction, The Crossing and Restraint.

  1. Somehow I remember The Unisexers I recall it ran at a timeslot I could watch which was weird I was only 11 years old. My introduction to the gorgeous Tina Bursill. And Arcade was so anticipated. Summer of 1979/80 big hype. Terrible flop. Shame, it had a great cast .

    1. Yes I remember the summer pre show hype of Arcade and the Unisexes. Both actually I remember on radio while travelling with the family in the car to Auntie and Uncles place. Patrick was in short lived shows and even his role in Cop Shop was meant to be a regular, but ended up getting replaced by Gil Tuckers Const Roy Baker. A lot of actors passing lately RIP.

  2. That’s sad, I remember Patrick well from all those shows. I had a bit of a crush on him: those chiseled looks and Burt Reynolds type macho acting style.
