US actor Robert Forster, best known for Breaking Bad, Twin Peaks and Jackie Brown, has died aged 78.

He passed away in his Los Angeles home shortly after being diagnosed with brain cancer.

Forster enjoyed a prolific career that spanned five decades. He appeared in over a hundred films, including The Descendants, The Delta Force, Me Myself & Irene, Cowboys and Angels, Alligator, The Black Hole, Supernova, Olympus Has Fallen, and Mulholland Drive

Quentin Tarantino cast him as bondsman Max Cherry in the 1997 film, Jackie Brown, earning him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. It was a role that rescued him from oblivion and restarted his career.

His TV credits included Last Man Standing, Twin Peaks, Divorce, Ironside, Alcatraz, CSI: New York, Heroes, Army Wives, Desperate Housewives, Numb3rs, Huff, Due East, Walker Texas Ranger, Murder She Wrote, Magnum PI, Hotel, Police Story, Jake and the Fatman , NYPD and I’m Dying Up Here.

Forster’s final performance was El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which was released on Netflix on Friday, the day of his death.

  1. This is really sad news.I just saw him in El Camino on the very day he died.What an actor he was,he left a mark in every role he created.He will be greatly missed.Rest in Peace,Robert Forster.

  2. Great actor. Impressive career. Just saw him in ‘What They Had’ a drama with Michael Shannon, Hilary Swank and Blythe Danner about a family dealing with dementia. Robert was the most impressive and that’s saying s something with those castmates. He will be missed.
