Airdate: The Unicorn

Single dad sitcom starring Walton Goggins is coming to 10.

It’s been a while since a US comedy has aired in a 7:30 slot on 10 I think (The Conners perhaps?) but The Unicorn will premiere on 10 on Wednesdays later this month.

It stars Walton Goggins (Justified, Vice Principals, The Shield) as recently widowed father who re-enters the dating scene and becomes the most sought after single guy due to his widowed status.

The cast also includes Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine, Ballers), Omar Millar (8 Mile, Shall We Dance) and Michaela Watkins (Saturday Night Live, Transparent).

Created by writers from Trial & Error and Teachers, this premiered to good reviews when it debuted in late September.

The world of dating can be a cruel one. You can be dumped, stood up, ghosted and gaslighted. There are playboys, cheaters, commitment-phobes and con men. But every now and then…you stumble across a unicorn.

Meet Wade (Walter Goggins, Justified, Sons of Anarchy), one of the very few living unicorns. He’s a devoted single dad, gainfully employed, attractive and comes with a proven track record of commitment.

A year after his wife has passed away, Wade’s friends decide it’s time for their mate to get back in the game and nudge him into the world of dating.

Wade has so many other parts of his life figured out, but how will a man who was with the same partner for over 20 years adjust to the new online world of love? And just what will his daughters make of him moving on from the memory of mum?

7.30pm Wednesday, 20 November on 10.

  1. Trial & Error is brilliant, and the script writers of Teachers knew what they were doing so this could be really good. I predict Ten will jerk this around the schedule at random irrespective of whether its a ratings success or failure…..

  2. I’ve loved Walter Goggins since Justified and The Shield. Both terrific shows. Very disappointed to see this new show will be on TEN, a channel I avoid like the plague.
