Rob Lowe drama Wild Bill has been axed at just one season.
The UK drama was recently announced in Seven’s Upfronts.
The series saw Rob Lowe play chief constable Bill Hixon as an American who moved to Lincolnshire with his 14-year-old daughter to take up the role with East Lincolnshire Police Force.
The series received largely mixed reviews.
An ITV spokesman said: “We loved Wild Bill and having Rob Lowe on ITV, but while we remain very proud of the series, it unfortunately didn’t connect with audiences in the way we’d hoped, so sadly it won’t be returning.”
At six episodes Seven is still likely to screen the series, but the axing may now sway their choice of timeslot or channel.

That’s a shame – I quite enjoyed it and was hoping for a renewal
Rob Lowe has another action show starting next year called 9-1-1 Lone Star, I suspect this may have finalized the studio decision to cancel Wild Bill. British audiences do love their crime and Police procedure shows but having American’s showing the Brit’s how to run their Police force is a return to the 80’s and 90’s when B Grade semi-retired Hollywood stars where given the star billing they had long lost in America to hype up an average production, aiming to sell it to U.S. audiences
