Ex-Block contestant on extortion charges

Updated: Ex-Block contestant Suzi Taylor refused bail as magistrate rules her risk of re-offending is "simply unacceptable".

Former 2015 Block contestant Suzi Taylor will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today after allegedly extorting a man and assaulting him.

Police allege Taylor, 49, used an online dating app to arrange to meet a 33-year-old man at her home in  New Farm on Wednesday.

When the man arrived just after midnight, Taylor allegedly demanded money from him. When he did not comply, her co-accused Ali Ebrahimi, 22, allegedly entered the room and assaulted the man and held him against his will.

Taylor also allegedly assaulted the man before she and Ebrahimi forced him to undertake an online transaction.

The pair then allegedly stole his bank card and withdrew a sum of money.

They have been charged with one count each of extortion with intent to gain benefit with threat of detriment, deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm and possessing dangerous drugs.

The charges come just months after Taylor pleaded guilty to fraud and theft charges after she was caught using a stolen credit card to buy alcohol. Police located stolen items at her home on May 10, and was given a notice to appear in court where she was issued a $2,500 fine.

Suzi Taylor, a former Penthouse model, has previously attracted headlines including collapsing with exhaustion on The Block, dancing topless on a boat, and being romantically liaised to Richard Wilkins & Michael Hutchence.
