NITV announces channel version of The World Game

NITV to dissect football from around the world with an Indigenous focus.

NITV has announced its own version of The World Game, with a focus on football from around the world .

It will be hosted by Lowanna Grant who has previously presented several NITV programs including digital editions of The Point.

The weekly program will feature highlights, previews, news and interviews with an Indigenous focus.

“I’m thrilled to be hosting NITV’s version of The World Game. I grew up watching and playing all kinds of sport and I have a massive interest in football. I’m really looking forward to being able to expand my knowledge on all of the different competitions around the world and to bring football to our viewers who might normally be AFL or Rugby League fans,” said Grant.

NITV Channel Manager Tanya Orman said “NITV is committed to offering audiences a diverse range of sport coverage and we’re excited to bring our viewers our first ever football news show.

The World Game is an opportunity to engage Indigenous and non-Indigenous viewers alike with all the football news from an Indigenous perspective.”

NITC recently confirmed the end of the Marngrook Footy Show.

The program will capture the best moments of domestic and international football, engaging Indigenous and non-Indigenous audiences alike by following all the best moments from the biggest tournaments including the Premier League, FA Cup, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

Football fans can also look forward to NITV’s broadcast of the 2019 National Indigenous Football Championships and extensive coverage of National Indigenous Football Week in November 2020, as well as collaborations with John Moriarty Football.

Tuesday 3 December at 1.30pm on NITV.
