With The Block over the TV ratings got a shake-up last night.
In a nutshell, 10 led at 7:30 and 8:30 with their primary channel share finishing ahead of Nine. ABC primary also beat Nine.
But the strength of Seven’s early evening (and multichannels) made them unbeatable, while Nine had an uphill battle from 7:30 onwards. At least change keeps life interesting…
The Amazing Race Australia won its slot at 651,000 just ahead of Australian Story (642,000) and 7:30 (616,000) then Bride & Prejudice (575,000) and RBT (472,000).
Have You Been Paying Attention? was the top entertainment slot at 754,000 and topped the demos. Four Corners (570,000), Media Watch (539,000 from 9:20pm), The Rookie (376,000) and Love Island (263,000) followed.
Earlier in the day the Today show rose, perhaps out of curiosity over cast changes.
Seven network won Monday with 29.8% then Nine 22.7%, 10 20.3%, ABC 19.5% an SBS 7.6%.
Seven News was #1 at 1.05m / 1.02m for Seven then Home and Away (640,000) and The Chase (555,000 / 369,000). SWAT drew 216,00.
Nine News was best for Nine at 833,000 / 833,000. A Current Affair was 678,000 and Hot Seat drew 419,000 / 252,000. 20 to ONEÂ was 160,000.
The Project was 462,000 / 259,000 for 10 then 10 News First (354,000) and Just for Laughs (283,000). Celebrity Name Game was 171,000.
ABC News (703,000), Q&A (382,000) and The Drum (174,000) also comprised ABC’s night.
On SBS it was 24 Hours In Emergency (217,000), The Royal House Of Windsor (208,000), 24 Hours In Police Custody (143,000) and SBS World News (133,000).
7mate’s The Bourne Supremacy movie led multichannels at 183,000.
Sunrise: 292,000
Today: 215,000
News Breakfast: 124,000 / 49,000.

I am not enjoying this Aussie version of TAR as much as I thought I would. The teams come across as a bit too stupid to me, not knowing how a compass works being one main example. Last night they showed teams doing one task very poorly and then they jump straight over to showing them on the next one without seeing them finish the one they were doing. I know it would be all about time constrictions but spoils it for me. I am just finding it irritating but still watching most of it.
A drama filled episode of Bride & Prejudice last night. One bride dumps the groom on the eve of the wedding, and another bride comes close to postponing the wedding when her family refused to show. Very similar antics to those of MAFS, yet Seven getting about 1/5 of the ratings for it. As someone enjoying B&P, I’m glad Seven stuck with it.
What is happening with TARA at the moment is proof that if done correctly, it will do well. 10 is treating the show a lot better than how Seven treated the first three seasons (and that includes advertising the show, which I don’;t think Seven did). I agree with several people in that I am actually enjoying this season.
Good to see a boost in TARA! Well Done Ch10!
I am enjoying it more and more. Pity it does not get better ratings.
Thank u channel 9 for letting love island run its course without any panicking switcheroo programming .
Yes it is very tame n way less dramatic then last year , but I’ll take what I can get lol
I guess with it being somewhat “live” they had to follow through.
An issue Seven is avoiding with its packaged Big Brother. If it flunks, they just move it, compared to having to do a whole season of live shows.
I guess Love Island, still pulling big demos and online numbers as well as half decent consolidated has helped Nine stick it out.
Yes yes we no all of the above , just good to see it stay on mainstream channel throughout its run . Prob the last year of that lol
You can have it, just trash tv in my opinion.
