This season, AJ (Matt Okine) is back and now has his eye on a television career. Sure, he’s technically homeless and he’s very low on friends, but he’s positive he can turn it all around if he can just get on a celebrity reality show. As he attempts to enter the coveted world of reality TV, AJ finally reconnects with his best friend Stevie (Harriet Dyer), after an unexpected death brings the estranged best friends back together. Family disputes and free booze prove the perfect conditions for a reunion – although Stevie is underwhelmed when she learns that all she’s inherited is her father’s mouldy old caravan and memories of broken promises to visit the Big Bilby.

AJ’s reality TV pursuit lands him a meeting with TV producer, Miranda (Claudia Karvan) who convinces him that a show about his breakup would be a hit. AJ also has his ongoing issues with his now pregnant ex, Liv (Valene Kane) – plus he meets a new love interest, Charlie (Lily Sullivan).

The series is produced by Aquarius Films in association with Wooden Horse and financed with support from Screen Australia and Screen NSW. The Stan Original Series The Other Guy is distributed outside Australia by Entertainment One (eOne).
