Airdate: Melissa & Lofty: A Decade at the News Desk

Nine News Queensland presenters Andrew Lofthouse and Melissa Downes will mark a decade  on air together with a local news special Melissa and Lofty: A Decade at the News Desk.

“Ten years at the news desk alongside Lofty is a reason to celebrate. We have laughed, we have cried, and through it all we have made lifelong friends. It has certainly been a decade to remember,” said Downes.

“Even ten years later, every night at the news desk I feel as lucky as I did on my first day. It’s been a wonderful decade and I am looking forward to viewers looking back on it with us,” Lofthouse said.

In this decade in review, they will take viewers down an emotional memory lane. Melissa reveals her personal heartache that coincided with a one particular disaster, while Andrew pays tribute to the Queenslanders who became everyday heroes and found themselves in the spotlight.

Despite technological advancements and an ever-changing media landscape, their passion and drive as a news team remains at the core of their dominant news coverage.
