Axed: Daybreak

Apocalyptic teen drama Daybreak has been axed by Netflix after just one season.

Based on a graphic novel by Brian Ralph, the series centres around a high school outcast searching for his girlfriend in a world of Mad Max-style gangs and zombie-like creatures. It featured Matthew Broderick as school principal.

“We learned last week that Daybreak will not be returning for a second season,” co-creator Aron Eli Coleite wrote on social media. “We’re so sorry we couldn’t share it with you sooner but also so grateful that we got to hang out.”

Season one debuted in October.
