John Riddell signs off: “I’m getting a bit emotional.”

Adelaide’s Seven News presenter John Riddell has signed off after 30 years with Seven and 45 years in media.

Last night Seven screened a highlights package before bidding him farewell. But Riddell (pictured left) was brief in his final remarks.

“All I can say is our viewers are fantastic,” said Riddell. “They stick with us, and they make us number one. And so do you (pointing to Jane Doyle) and so do you (Bruce Abernethy). I’m getting a bit emotional.”

Jane Doyle added, “Everyone will miss you. It’s been a great run and it’s been a privilege to work alongside each other over all these years.”
