Scott Tweedie heads to E! News in NYC

The Loop presenter is New York-bound for the next big step in his career, hosting for E! Entertainment.

Tweedie will join Emmy-winning host and Lilliana Vazquez on E! News at 7am and Pop of the Morning at 11am from Monday, January 6.

It was his own enterprising approach that laid the foundations for his big move.

“Back in 2014 I was preparing for my hosting duties on the ARIA’s Red Carpet because Network 10 had the broadcast,” he tells TV Tonight.

“I watched a Ryan Seacrest pre-Oscars YouTube video where he was being quizzed hours before his awards show.

“I thought to myself: ‘Ryan is one of the busiest men in Hollywood, I want to know his pre-production system to remember everything.’ So I looked up one of the ladies quizzing him on Twitter, and asked if I could Skype her. She replied within hours, and said I was the first person in the world to reach out to her.

“She instantly became a mentor to me. The next time I was in LA she took me to lunch and introduced me to all her favourite execs and networks, and that’s when the E! relationship began.

“Five years later, I’m now packing my bags and moving to NYC by the end of the month, for the biggest opportunity I could imagine. Working out of the famous 30 Rock Rockefeller Plaza studios in going to be mind-blowing. Our studio is next to Fallon’s!

“After spending 19 years in morning television, I know the importance of waking up with hosts you truly connect with and want to share your morning with. We’re excited to introduce you to that team,” said Tammy Filler, Executive Vice President & Editor-In-Chief, E! News. “With many years of entertainment reporting experience, Lilliana Vazquez and Scott Tweedie are well-respected, seasoned hosts, who have fun, relatable TV personalities with undeniable chemistry. They are the perfect pair to join the news team as we continue to build our presence in New York.”

Tweedie’s final Loop edition is on Saturday morning playing retro / old school “farewell songs” after 8 years at 10.

Lilliana Vazquez is a multi-faceted Emmy Award-winning host, TV personality, style expert and active contributor on “TODAY,” “E! News,” “Wendy Williams,” ”The Talk” and “Rachael Ray Show.” Lilliana has appeared on “Access Hollywood” and “Access Daily” as a correspondent, sitting down with the biggest names in entertainment and appearing on Hollywood’s most watched carpets including the Oscars, Golden Globes and Met Gala. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas and is proudly first-generation Latinx.

Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Scott Tweedie is a TV host and reporter whose credits include “Dancing With The Stars Australia”, his own spin-off show for the global smash-hit show, “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here,” Network 10’s morning show “Studio 10,” and host of the country’s most watched weekly music program “The Loop.” Scott began his career as host of the successful global TV show “Prank Patrol” which aired globally on BBC and ABC. Most recently, Scott worked as the entertainment and fashion reporter for Australia’s highest-rated broadcast events and one of the richest racing events in the world, “The Melbourne Cup Carnival.”

Sad to see Tweedie leave 10 but I’m so happy for him and this amazing opportunity. 10’s loss is E!’s gain and this is the perfect job for him! The US will absolutely love him 🙂 All the best, Tweedie!

  2. Best wishes Scotty for your future in the Big Apple! ??? I’ll need tissues for The Loop tomorrow. ?? I remember Ten tried an Australian version of E News years ago with Donna Gabbay and Nick Bennett.

  3. Out of sheer coincidence, came across in an op shop this morning a DVD of Prank Patrol: Superglove with a very young looking Scott on the cover, awwwww….perhaps worth a Friday Flashback? ☺ All the best, Scott.

  4. Congratulations to Scott and I wish him all the best in New York. Such an exciting opportunity for a young presenter, living the dream. The lyrics of New York, New York describe his journey perfectly ✈️??
