I’m a Celebrity off to a good start for 10

10 reality series just shy of a million viewers at launch, in summer non-ratings.

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here got off to a strong start on Sunday night, with up to 980,000 viewers tuning into Opening Night.

Although it was lower than 2019’s 1.1m it’s still a positive launch for a show in summer non-ratings. It was also a week earlier this year and was competing with a heavy news presence.

Yesterday 10 Chief Content Officer Beverly McGarvey said, “We are delighted with the brilliant audience numbers for the first episode of the new season of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. It has clearly struck a chord with viewers and proven – once again – that people are looking for a fun and engaging alternative. We look forward to revealing more campmates tonight and four more weeks of jungle fun and surprises.

“I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! represents an excellent start to our strategy of giving viewers differentiated flagship content 50 weeks of the year.”

Those two new cast proved to be the rumoured ex-AFL footballers Billy Brownless and Dale “Daisy” Thomas.

10 is yet to introduce its “Artist” and “Gossip Guru” into the mix.

10 has also confirmed returning dates for Australian Survivor and Hughesy We Have a Problem, with Dancing with the Stars also being teased.

  1. I don’t even now most of the ‘celebrities’ on this show. Myf’s name caught my attention to have a look but I won’t be watching too much of it.

  2. As far as reality TV is concerned, this is my favourite due to it’s humourk, as opposed to watching the mean spirited characters on other shows. It’s just good fun.
