Seven Group Holdings has donated $10m to the bushfire relief efforts.
SGH has committed $5 million to provide both financial support and direct tangible support through equipment, services and personnel.
Australian Capital Equity (ACE), SGH’s major shareholder, will match the pledge with an additional $5 million commitment.
SGH Executive Chairman Kerry Stokes and Managing Director and CEO Ryan Stokes said it was a donation on behalf of “all people to help our communities”.
“We strongly believe that the combination of our financial resources, our industry-leading equipment and our team’s motivation and skills are the best contribution we can make,” it read.
“We are in a unique position to provide not only financial support but also the equipment and services required by the Rural Fire Service (RFS) to support the recovery and rebuilding effort.
“Our group of companies are uniquely placed to help provide short and long term solutions to the terrible damage being wrought across our country by the bushfires,” he said.
“We will work closely with government and community groups to ensure our assistance is maximised. Senior executives across the group, including ACE Chief Operating Officer, James McMahon, will be leading our combined initiatives.
“Our hearts go out to all the families impacted by the fires. They can be assured all Australians stand with them.”
