Nine begins Live coverage of the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Sydney begins tomorrow on 9GEM.
Coverage will be hosted by Erin Molan and James Bracey, with analysis from former Australian star Julia Price, and former captain Mark Taylor. Commentators this season include Mel Jones, Michael Clarke, Lisa Sthalekar, Nasser Hussain and Isa Guha.
Out of the mix is Todd Woodbridge who last year was a surprise host of the Ashes Series.
This year marks the first Women’s T20 World Cup to be hosted in Australia.
The home crowd advantage only solidifies the Aussies as red-hot favourites heading into the tournament, with the side currently enjoying their no.1 position in the world T20 rankings.
Such has been their dominance, they have won four of the six T20 World Cups to take place thus far.
Captain Meg Lanning once again leads the side into battle, with a team of superstars including the game’s best all-rounder in Ellyse Perry, bowling sensation Megan Schutt, and 2018 T20 International player of the year, Alyssa Healy.
The Final for this year’s tournament appropriately falls on International Women’s Day, where an attempt will be underway at the iconic MCG to break the record for the highest attendance at a women’s sporting event – an endeavor made all the more possible with International megastar Katy Perry providing the entertainment.
