FOX League launches 2020 season

Cooper Cronk & Sam Burgess join NRL coverage -and a 30th anniversary promo for Simply the Best.

FOX League’s 2020 talent line-up was revealed this morning at the a media day at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

This year Cooper Cronk joins live game coverage, and Sam Burgess who will feature on Sunday Night with Matty Johns as well as pre and post-game coverage.

FOX League will screen every game of every round, plus all finals games leading into the Grand Final Live, ad-break free during play and in HD. Over 40 games will be broadcast in Ultra HD (channel 508)

FOX Rover Cam returns in 2020, and for the first time ever, every night of Live coverage will be headed up by female hosts with Yvonne Sampson, Hannah Hollis, Jessica Yates and Lara Pitt.

There will also be a special 30th anniversary Simply the Best promo, with Jimmy Barnes.

“In 2019 Foxtel break new ground with the introduction of 4K Ultra HD and FOX Rover Cam bringing fans closer to the game than ever before.

“It only gets better in 2020 with FOX League again bringing fans every game, every round, Live ad-break free during play and in HD on FOX League with over 40 games in 4K Ultra HD throughout the season.

“And for the first time ever, FOX League’s live game coverage will be headed up by female hosts with Yvonne Sampson, Hannah Hollis, Jessica Yates and Lara Pitt guiding fans through all the pre and post-game action in 2020.

“At Foxtel the conversation around rugby league never ends. FOX League’s plethora of magazine shows will continue to provide fans with unrivalled access and insight into the game.

“We have simply the best and biggest line-up of commentators to give fans unrivalled insight and analysis including greats of the game like Matty Johns, Mal Meninga, Kevin Walters, Michael Ennis, Greg Alexander and Gorden Tallis.”

Fan favourite, Matty Johns, returns in 2020 with the breakout show of 2019, The Matty Johns Podcast, as well as hosting The Late Show with Matty Johns and Sunday Night with Matty Johns.

Mal Meninga will feature across more of the big game day broadcasts in 2020 and along with Cronk, Kevin Walters, Ben Ikin, Gorden Tallis, Justin Hodges, Corey Parker, Billy Moore, Yvonne Sampson and Hannah Hollis will lead the biggest Queensland line-up on TV.

The Live on-field action starts on Thursday, March 12 and Yvonne Sampson, Gorden Tallis and Cooper Cronk will combine every Thursday night with a bumper panel of experts to preview the opening match of the round on Thursday Night Football.

FOX League remains the only place to watch the Friday night double-header with Hannah Hollis, Greg Alexander and Sam Burgess bringing fans the 6.00pm match Exclusive to Rugby League’s only dedicated channel before the 8.00pm blockbuster.

The biggest day in NRL returns in 2020 with a massive Super Saturday triple-header Live and only on FOX League, plus FOX League will be the only place to watch both Sunday matches Live to wrap up the weekend’s on-field action.

The best callers in the game will be on FOX League’s in 2020 with Warren Smith, Andrew Voss, Dan Ginnane and Brenton Speed set to bring fans every second of every game each week.

Complementing the on-field action is FOX League’s extensive line-up of entertainment shows with more fun and more debate, bringing fans even closer to the game they love.

It all kicks-off on Monday night when the best mentors in the NRL join Ben Ikin and Paul Kent for NRL 360 Coaches Night before Andrew Voss, Steve “Blocker” Roach, Geoff Toovey and Phil “Buzz” Rothfield debate all the biggest issues in the game on Controversy Corner.

Benji Marshall and James Graham return to NRL 360 Players Night every Tuesday night in 2020 while Andrew Voss will be joined by Lara Pitt for The Fan to look at rugby league through the historical and quirky lens of the game’s biggest fanatics.

The most listened to sports podcast in Australia, The Matty Johns Podcast, highlights Wednesday night’s entertainment, with Matty Johns sitting down with the biggest names in sport following NRL 360 Legends Night.

The weekend starts early with The Late Show with Matty Johns following Thursday Night Football. With the kids tucked up in bed, the regular team of Matty Johns, Gorden Tallis, Nathan Hindmarsh and Bryan Fletcher bring plenty of laughs with a raucous mix of jokes, banter, pranks and leftfield analysis.

The laughs continue on Friday night with James “The Professor” Rochford and Andrew “Barney” Barnett poking harmless fun at the game, the clubs and the players that we all love with The Narrow World of Sports.

FOX League’s flagship show, Sunday Night with Matty Johns, is back in 2020. Matthew Johns will be joined by Bryan Fletcher, Sam Burgess and Emma Freedman to wrap up the round’s action with plenty of laughs along the way.

The week wraps up with Big League Wrap with Yvonne Sampson, Mick Ennis and James Hooper dissecting all the biggest news and talking points following the weekend’s round of football.
