Oscars broadcast down, but Sunrise up.

Ratings: Red carpet coverage benefits Sunrise, but Oscars broadcast was not Live in all states.

Seven’s daytime coverage of the Academy Awards, live only in AEDT cities, was 305,000, down on Nine’s 333,000 broadcast in 2019. A primetime replay drew another 124,000 on 7flix.

But Sunrise did reap the benefits with 318,000 viewers with its red carpet coverage, miles in front of Today on 216,000.  A refreshed News Breakfast on ABC was 148,000 / 49,000.

In primetime Married at First Sight drew 1.14m viewers and again topped the demos.

7:30 (669,000) / Back Roads (635,000), Australian Survivor (605,000) and My Kitchen Rules (439,000) all followed.

Nine network won Monday with 30.9% then Seven 26.1%, ABC 18.9%, 17.9% and SBS 6.2%.

Nine News drew 893,000 / 876,000 for Nine then A Current Affair (782,000), Hot Seat (419,000 / 261,000). Movie: Pitch Perfect drew 321,000.

Seven News won its slot with 1.06m / 1.03m for Seven. Home and Away (601,000), The Chase (553,000 / 349,000) and 9-1-1 (500,000) followed. SWAT was 234,000.

ABC News (737,000) scored well for ABC. Media Watch was 588,000 then Four Corners (568,000), Q&A (399,000). The Drum drew 175,000.

The Project drew 496,000 / 301,000 for 10 then 10 News First (411,000 / 253,000). Hughesy We Have a Problem was 269,000.

On SBS it was Michael Mosley: Trust Me I’m a Doctor (144,000), Planet Exhibition (133,000), SBS World News (125,000), and Medicine or Myth? (82,000).

  1. So 7 really gone all in on MKR with Sunday to Thursday still. Even if your into watching it that’s just too many hours to watch that many nights of the same show anyway, what were they thinking, talk about overkill.

      1. Creative and Free To Air TV hey…hmmm…I know Dogs Make You LOL 3 which is really a combination of clips from 1 and two in a different order followed by Dogs Make You LOL 4 which are the other parts of 1 and 2 not in 3 and ditto for a Cats one and other animal ones.

      2. Are you able to confirm what first run factual Seven have ready? As it was reported they axed some long-standing ones, not just budget cuts or low ratings, but to show advertisers and viewers they’re getting serious about stripped shows in 2020?
